Manufacturing Assistant (Including Saw Operation)

Bradman Lake Group is a well-established engineering company that has built high speed and complex packaging equipment for 70 plus years with an annual turnover on £35 million per year.

We require a skilled (must be time served/have an apprenticeship) Manufacturing Assistant for our assembly facility.

This is a permanent positions based on a 37 hour basic week M-F and overtime generally available. 

Purpose of Role:

The cost effective cutting and on-time preparation of all materials to support the manufacture of components within planned schedules.

Reporting to: Machine Shop Manager

Primary Responsibilities/Activities:

  • Complete specified machine safety checks & daily check lists
  • Promote a safe working environment, keep your working area organised, clean & tidy
  • Assist as required in keeping the machine shop & other areas clean & tidy
  • Receive and unload raw material, clean, inspect and rack safely
  • Report material shortages and/or damage immediately on receipt of goods
  • Assist with the ordering of replacement material and return of defective goods
  • Pass confirmed delivery notes to supply chain personnel
  • Monitor material stock levels, and report potential shortages in required demand 'ahead of time'
  • Working from the traveller form, distribute cut material to the required work station/s, ensuring material is correctly labelled (works order number, module and required delivery date)
  • Ensure stock records are accurate& kept up to date
  • Comply with all quality and health & safety procedures/practices
  • Work closely with the machine shop team and support other departments to ensure business objectives are achieved
  • Other duties as may be required
