SL904Fully Automatic End Load Cartoner

This fully automatic, continuous motion end load machine is designed for large scale, high speed cartoning operations at speeds up to 180 cartons per minute. The SL904 is available with two types of product inserter, either a heavy duty, smooth running, barrel cam loader or a robotic one. The latter gives a great degree of control and flexibility to this critical area of the machine's operation. It reduces the width of the machine, allowing increased access and because it uses fewer product pushers, size changes are simplified.

Machine operation

The machine continuously feeds end load cartons from an inclined magazine. They are extracted from the carton stack by means of vacuum cups on the rotary feeder at a signal given by the product as it passes a sensor on the infeed conveyor. The cartons are then erected into the flight chains. The product, which has been automatically or manually placed into the pockets of the product infeed conveyor is then gently loaded into the open end of the carton either by pusher arm following an angled track or by a robotic inserter. After filling the carton is closed using hot melt adhesive and it exits the machine with the assistance of powered outfeed belts.
