Bradman Lake to showcase new technology at PackExpo 2018

Visit us at PackExpo, McCormick Place, Chicago, IL. 14 to 17 October 2018

For complimentary registration to the show use code 28J45.

Visitors to Bradman Lake’s booth number S-2944 will be able to witness a fully integrated Bradman Lake - Ibonhart Brand - Bread Slicer and Bagger System along with the well-established technology of Flow Wrapper, End Load Cartoner and Top Load Cartoner.

Videos and Presentations will be available at the booth to demonstrate how Bradman Lake provides true, single-source turnkey packaging systems from Process to Pallet.

The exhibit will comprise:

BS420 & IBPRO Bread Packaging Line

Bradman Lake will be demonstrating a completely, interconnected, single-control-platform bread slicing and bagging solution, comprising its BS420A Bread Band Slicer and its IBPRO Bread Bagging Machine.

The adjustable-slice-thickness BS420 bread band slicer is capable of accurately slicing loaves of bread up to 70 packs per minute, with the slice thickness capable of being changed quickly and easily via the HMI touchscreen.

The product is fully controlled thanks to adjustable top, bottom and side belts and the machine can be adjusted for either blade on center or slice on center of the loaf, giving users the maximum amount of flexibility.

Depending on the product being sliced, blade scrapers and a smart blade-oiling system option are available. The BS420 can be fully integrated into both the bakery’s cold bread conveyor system and Bradman Lake’s range of Bread bagging machines, including the IBPRO.

BS420A Bread Band Slicer

The IBPRO is the company’s latest generation bread bagging machine. In operation, bread is fed from the slicer via a servo- driven synchronizer onto an inline infeed. An overhead paddle system then smoothly accelerates the bread into the bag – allowing for speeds of up to 70 packs per minute to be achieved.

The IBPRO can be equipped with a half-loaf infeed and is capable of bagging both tinned sandwich bread and artisan style products.

A wide variety of bag sealers can be positioned on the discharge of the machine giving the bakery complete flexibility.

For the PackExpo show the Bradman Lake’s IBPRO bagger will incorporate Burford Corporation sealing equipment, model 2000 Servo Twist Tyer. The 2000 model offers automatic timing, modular design, package recognition, easy threading, 100+ bags per minute and no down time needed for lubrication.

FT120 Flow Wrapper

The FT120 flow wrapper sets the benchmark for fully automatic horizontal form fill and seal flow wrapping machines. Future Proof design that handles a wide range of products, formats and sizes to easily meet the demands of the fast-changing markets at any time in the future. It operates at the highest level of efficiency and seal integrity and can include twin film reel holders, automatic film reel-to-reel splice, splice detection and rejection, print registration, automatic film web alignment, film printing, empty and deformed pack identification and rejection, four pairs of longitudinal seal crimp rollers provide hot- or cold-seal options and a robust end-crimp sealing module.

HS Lock Carton/Tray Former & IL120 Carton Closer engineered to withstand caustic wash-down

The HS Double Head Lock Former uses a direct placement system and offers an operating speed of up to 60 strokes per minute. Its factory set tooling is both quick and easy to size change and to ensure repeatability.

This carton erectors will erect cartons secured by self-locking tabs and can be supplied as a single, double or triple head.

The formed cartons are then passed to the IL120 Three-Flap Carton Closer to complete the packaging operation.

The IL120 retains Bradman Lake's FCC Flexible rubber fingers that allow for cartons containing a product of inconsistent size, protruding above the carton base, to be closed without jamming. It features a tool-less size changeover which significantly reduces downtime and increases productivity for customers that run several different carton sizes.

Both the carton former and the closer exhibit a compact layout design, ideal for applications where space is at a premium and engineered to withstand caustic wash-down and eliminates areas where bacteria can hide.

SL903 Fully Automatic Continuous Motion End Load Cartoner

Bradman Lake’s SL series of end load cartoning machines is the natural evolution of years of experience supplying machines to handle all types of product and carton design. The machines are designed to operate over a large size range with easy, fast and repeatable size changing. The SL903 Fully Automatic End Load Cartoner can handle lower-grade carton materials and is offered with a variety of product infeed and collating systems for total automation with upstream equipment.

Optional features are available to enable the machine to be readily adapted to meet specific applications. The simple, yet robust, stainless steel construction makes the machine ideally suited to many industries. Machine guarding has been designed to provide both maximum visibility of operation and excellent machine access.
